A few months ago I enrolled in the Craftsy class, Sewing With Knits. I've been sewing with knits for a few years and really enjoy it. This class comes with a goldmine of basic patterns: a hoodie, v-neck and scoopneck t shirts, yoga pants, a skirt, and my favorite, the Surplice Dress.
This is what I've made so far with the patterns...

I highly recommend the class!

Since I was in the mood for sewing with knits already, I also completed this short sleeved top,
Jalie 2921:
It's made of this lycra jersey from Girl Charlee, which is very soft.
Now it's a little too cold for short sleeved shirts, too bad!!
Well, I'm relatively new to your blog but I'm definitely here :) Can't remember how I found you but I really enjoy seeing what you've been sewing. It really inspires me to do more myself. Am very tempted by that Craftsy class - I've been leary about knit fabrics and I really would like to have a go as I'm currently pregnant and have some lovely maternity patterns that I should really try before it is too late.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Once you get the hang of it, it's actually faster than sewing wovens because more stretch = less fitting problems. Plus there are a ton of cute knit patterns for babies and kids that you can whip up fast! Congratulations on your new addition! :)
DeleteWow - this look like something I am ready for. I think once the holidays wind down this will be my January project!
