Peony 2.0

Awhile back I saw This Peony Dress, and just HAD to have it.  I quickly located some of Jay McCarroll's Dropcloth Fabric and got to work!

The only planned difference from the original is I used the plum colored version of the fabric.  I also made the self-belt, because I just don't have any cool belts!

Please ignore my hideous white legs.  I didn't have tights on hand that would match.  I did however find these purple shoes.  I'm totally wearing this for Easter!

My nearly 11 year old son actually complimented this dress!
Thanks, Camille, for the idea.

This is the dress on my "Mii", as Travis calls it.

  1. How do you like this pattern made up in a quilting cotton? I have the perfect print and it seems like it would work really well. Your dress came out beautiflly--I love that print.

    1. It worked very well with the cotton! I wouln't have attempted it if I didn't see it done first. It also worked well in the suiting fabric for my first version. It seems like peony works well with almost anything! My next version will be plaid suiting. Good luck with yours!

    1. Thanks, Vanessa! It's ironic how I love bold clothing and I'm one of the shyest people in real life. Kind of odd, lol!

  6. Wow, this dress is so cool. I love how wild the dropcloth fabric is. We have the same color hair, so I think the dress would look awesome in my closet too!
