Bring on the Fall & Winter Projects!

Wow, I've been gone a long time! 

My sewing room is in the attic section of our very old house & it gets extremely hot up there in the summer. Since the weather has cooled off, it's been the perfect opportunity to get back in there and start crossing some projects off my list.

This is the Sweetheart Dress, by Patterns for Pirates. This is my second Sweetheart Dress. It's made for a more stable medium weight knit, So I used Ponte Roma. I like the circle skirt on this dress, it's cut as a giant circle with no seams on the sides.

Right now Patterns For Pirates is having a 30% off sale and a huge giveaway, check it out! I've sewed a few of their patterns and can definitely recommend them for excellent instructions and drafting. They also have a very active Facebook group, which makes me want to sew every pattern I see on there.

More Me Made May

Hello, I have been posting each day on instagram (craftyNHmom) and it's time to do a little round up here. The weather has been getting warmer each day this week, but earlier in the week I was absolutely freezing in my outfits while taking a photo. I did at least get to wear a few warmer dresses I made this winter, so that was good!

Lola Dress by Victory Patterns made with french terry. I embroidered the back. I've made 3 Lolas so far. Very cozy.

Coco Dress by Tilly and the Buttons in Ponte 

Good old green dress. This is one of my standard throw-ons. It's like wearing pajamas.

Another Coco Dress. This time embellished with a Celtic triskele. I'm on an embroidery kick.

 Colette Macaron Dress. I made this about 2 years ago and I still love it.

 Sweatshirt hoodie, Deborah by Mamu Designs. I just couldn't get warm that day!!

 Wiggle Dress from Gertie's first book, still a favorite! I wore this out on Mother's Day. I even got to go fabric shopping at Pintuck and Purl in Exeter, NH. I'll definitely be going back there!! They stocked a ton of my favorite paper patterns and some really beautiful apparel fabrics.

Day 1 - Me Made May 2016

Starting out with a blurry indoor photo today, taken by my teenager. I hope to soon set up my tripod so I don't have to involve anyone else in taking my photos. 

Since last year I have replaced my camera. I dropped my Canon 60D on vacation and replaced it with a 70D. My goal is to get better at using my settings and lenses to get crisper photos.

Today I'm wearing my gray ponte knit Moneta Dress and Astoria Sweater, both patterns by Colette. The sweater is made from sweater knit from JoAnn fabrics, it is really warm and actually has fleece on the back.

Here is a close up of the embroidered sleeve. 

This embroidery design is part of the Elven Court pack at Urban Threads. This was done on my new Pfaff. More about my the new machine later! That should be a whole post on it's own. I have a lot of catching up to do here on the blog!!
